Membership Privileges and Responsibilities

In support of our efforts to provide a thoroughly safe and enjoyable experience while using this private recreation area and to maximize the benefits of canine – human companionship, Wesminster Farm offers these privileges and responsibilities to its members. In addition, all members agree to treat other members, their dogs, and the land with respect and consideration when utilizing this park .

Privileges

• Enjoy off-leash play with your dog(s) - Dogs may be off- leash inside the park gates. Adults are allowed to run/jog with their dog(s). The use of toys such as balls, Frisbees, etc. are allowed. The natural setting is uneven and should be considered in all activities. We encourage play between all members, and dogs alike, as we know that socializing is necessary for health and happiness.
• Dog swimming pond - The pond is available for your dog(s) to swim, and the bordering creek offers additional swimming opportunities.
• Social events – “Fun for All” special events will be scheduled throughout the year. We are exploring ideas for informational workshops on topics that enhance canine/companion health and wellness.
• Enjoy member- only access and limited use of 40 beautiful acres – Beverages and snacks for members and their dog can be enjoyed . Be aware that food/treats can create jealousy and aggression in dogs, therefore consume food/treats away from other dogs. Any items/trash must be taken with you when you leave the park.
• Enjoy music – Consideration of other members is expected at all times.
• Explore and identify wild plant/flowers and animals – Members are encouraged to explore and appreciate the natural environment. We want to maintain the natural beauty of the park. Do not pick wild flowers. All other wild plants, animals, and trees, are not to be molested or removed from their natural place.
• Tobacco use – Responsible smoking is allowed on the Wesminster Farm Management property. Cigarette butts must be picked up and generally acknowledged fire safety rules respected.

 

Responsibilities

• Members will maintain control and responsibility of dog(s) at all times –
• Each adult may have up to 2 member dogs in the park at any time. Dog(s) must be registered with Wesminster Farm and proof of up-to-date vaccinations must be on file. Dogs must always be supervised by an adult member and visual contact and voice control must be maintained. If your dog inflicts injury to another member, it is your responsibility to provide contact information before leaving the park. Intact males, females in season, and puppies under 4 months of age are not allowed.
• Vehicle card must be displayed & dog tags must be used whenever on the property. To provide members with a controlled, private facility, Wesminster Farm will provide a membership card for your vehicle, and tags for your dog.
• Plan ahead for guests - Contact Wesminster Farm by e-mail (WesminsterFarm@yahoo.com) as guest dogs must show proof of up-to- date vaccinations before entering park . Members are responsible for guests. Please inform guests of park rules. Rules will be posted.
• Children under 12 years old are discouraged from entering Wesminster Farm property. All children must be closely supervised. Children may not run in the park. Chasing dogs is prohibited. The permission of owner must be obtained before petting of other members' dogs. No strollers please .
• Members will maintain respect for & safety of all Wesminster Farm members (human and canine) & property - Aggressive behavior, and/or excessive barking are not tolerated and must be immediately addressed and stopped.
• Members are required to clean up after their dogs in groomed areas - gloves and receptacles are provided and conveniently located in the park.
• No inhumane treatment of dogs is allowed . This includes, but is not limited to: kicking, punching, hitting, or poking with objects, slapping of the nose, face or head. No choke chain, pinch, or pronged collars allowed.
• Dogs & Children may not be left unattended in vehicles regardless of temperature.
• No Fires or Barbeques. No hunting.

 

Wesminster Farm reserves the right to cancel memberships. Membership dues are non-refundable if it is determined that the member misrepresented or misjudged their dog's temperament or behaviors and/or violated Wesminster Farm rules.
